The role of Web and Mobile Designer Apprentice will assist ditto’s interaction designers and programmers. This new position is an exciting addition to the company and will make a significant contribution to the output of a very dynamic and busy team. The candidate will be part of the project team with working relationships to the commissioning clients. The type of projects they will be working on will be websites, online ads, interactive apps and mobile applications.
The role:
The role will be part of the design team within the Film & Video and Design department. On a day-to-day basis the candidate will work with the interaction designer and will be managed by the Head of Film & Video & Design. Their key responsibilities will be: - assisting in the research for commissioned projects
- assisting with the production of commissioned projects
- assisting with the user acceptance testing of commissioned projects
- assisting with the delivery of the final assets of commissioned projects
- assisting with graphic design requirements
- participating in all aspect of ditto’s cultural activity
Information about the job:
£134 per week – paid as calendar monthly instalments PLUS agreed travel expenses
12 month Apprenticeship Programme
A normal working day is Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. There is an hour for lunch, which can be taken at any point in the working day. There are company lunches throughout a working month that the candidate is expected to take part in.
On average 40 hours per week.
At the monthly live event the candidate will be part of the team delivering the event and will be need to be available until 9pm.
About the candidate:
The candidate should have some knowledge and technical skills in the following languages:
- Be able to use Apple Mac (essential)
- Excel/Word/Powerpoint (essential)
- HTML/ Dreamweaver/Coda (essential)
- CSS (essential)
- Photoshop (essential)
- JavaScript (desirable)
- Illustrator (desirable)
- Indesign (desirable)
- Be able to use a Windows computer (desirable)
Ideally but not essential GCSE Grade A – C to include English and Maths.
The candidate should be:

Future prospects:
12 months at ditto will provide the candidate with a significant amount of experience, insights and new skills into the digital media and advertising industries and a new breed of communication/ creative agency. If the appointed apprentice develops over the 12 month period and integrates themselves into the teams and company then a permanent assistant position may come available
